The Royal & Fortescue Hotel, Barnstaple

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were conveniently close to the lift and beautifully decorated for Christmas, but the noise from the air conditioning unit outside and the nightclub revelers in the alleyway below made it hard to rest. The service was a bit of a hit and miss with staff pouring beers and being loud outside, yet the professional and accommodating attitude made up for it. The location was excellent, with easy access to everything in Barnstaple, although some aspects of breakfast and the town's road system posed challenges. The dining options were diverse, with scrumptious offerings but a few organizational issues, and the facilities were decent overall.
